Symphonic Winds (intermediate band) assignment

Here is your computer lab assignment.  If you want to work with a partner that will great, as long as all of the following is completed. The final assignment will be e-mailed to me at Kyle.axford@sd41.bc.ca.  Please make sure you include your name and the name of your partner.  Groups of two, or work on your own.

Click on Lessons

Under Rhythm and Meter (approximate time 15 to 20 minutes)

Read and study the two sections labeled Simple Compound Time and Odd Meter.

Please be prepared to demonstrate your knowledge of these two sections next class.

Under Intervals (approximate time 20-25 minutes)

Read and study the three sections labeled Generic Intervals, Specific Intervals, and Writing Intervals.  

Click on Exercises back on the home page. (approximate time 15-20 minutes)

Select interval Identification

Select the customize tab at the top right hand side.  It is the middle icon to the right of the information button.  Make sure to select only C major as your Key Signature.  No sharps, no flats.  Or else the assignment gets more difficult for the time provided to you.  Please also adjust the Clef to your preference.  Try out the exercise a few times for practice.  Once you are ready, reset your score and complete 40 attempts.  Once finished e-mail me a screen shot of your mark or print off a copy.  I prefer not to waste paper.  Maybe put that camera phone to some good use.  

Please try to finish in class, no need to have to do this as homework.  But remember to practice your music for class.  If you finish early browse around the links I have provided on the blog.  Enjoy!
